This qualification is based on the HSE training standard delivery of First Aid at Work courses for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.
The course is conducted over one day and involves 4 practical assessments and one Multi Choice Question Paper at the end of the day.

- Assessing an incident
- Managing an unresponsive casualty
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation – CPR
- Basic AED use Recovery position
- Choking
- Seizures
- Shock
- Wounds & catastrophic bleeding*
- Minor injuries
*Optional catastrophic bleeding practical assessment may be undertaken during day dependent on needs of learners.
Learners should have a general level of fitness that will allow them to undertake floor based exercises and assessments during the day in order to pass this qualification. Likewise, learners should have good understanding of English in order to understand course content and undertake question paper at end of course. Learners with individual learning needs should notify Skillset First Aid in advance of the course where possible.
